Project KlikTas Equips Over 150 Lucena Tricycle Drivers with Digital Financial Literacy Skills

More than 150 tricycle drivers and operators gathered at the 4th Floor of the Lucena City Government Complex on May 29, 2026, not to discuss routes or daily operations, but to learn how to better protect themselves from the growing risks of the digital world.

Recognizing the increasing importance of financial security in an increasingly digital society, the Rotaract Club of Lucena South conducted Project KlikTas: Digital Financial Literacy Seminar in partnership with the Tricycle Franchising Regulatory Office (TFRO)–Lucena. The initiative aimed to strengthen participants' understanding of safe online transactions, cybersecurity awareness, and the prevention of common digital scams.

The seminar featured informative discussions, interactive sharing sessions, and an open forum that encouraged participants to ask questions and exchange experiences. Through these activities, attendees gained practical knowledge and strategies that they can apply in their daily financial transactions, helping them make informed decisions while protecting their hard-earned income from online fraud.

For many of the participants, the seminar provided timely guidance as digital payment platforms and online financial services continue to become part of everyday life. By reaching more than 150 frontliners in the public transportation sector, the project extended its impact beyond individual participants to the families and communities that depend on them. Each informed participant represents another household better equipped to recognize digital threats and navigate the digital economy with greater confidence.

Project KlikTas reflects Rotary's Area of Focus on Community Economic Development by promoting education as a means of building stronger and more resilient communities. Through digital financial literacy, the initiative seeks to help safeguard livelihoods while encouraging responsible and secure participation in the digital financial landscape.

The Rotaract Club of Lucena South expressed its gratitude to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Lucena Branch, the Tricycle Franchising Regulatory Office (TFRO)–Lucena, the resource speakers, partners, volunteers, and all participants for contributing to the success of the seminar.

Held on May 29, 2026, at the 4th Floor of the Lucena City Government Complex, Project KlikTas underscores the value of collaboration and community education in preparing citizens to face the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly digital future.
