The Rotary International District 3820 Handover and Mass Induction Ceremonies officially ushered in a new Rotary Year, marked by fresh leadership, renewed energy, and a strong sense of unity. With the theme of “Heartwork” guiding this year’s direction, the event celebrated the official turnover of leadership from outgoing Governor Arnold Mendoza to Heartworking Governor Jeremie S. Lo, who, along with his District Committee Team, promises a year of impactful service.
Held with much enthusiasm and inspiration, the ceremonies also featured Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo as keynote speaker — a powerful reminder of the importance of servant leadership.
The Rotary Club of Lucena South (RCLS) proudly joined the occasion, with several members appointed to serve in significant district roles:
- PP Dondon Alcala as District Deputy Governor
- PP Jeff Gagalang under the Membership Committee
- ES Paul Escobar in the Community Service Committee
- Rtn. Giovanni Angara in the Youth Service Committee
Representing the club was President Kits Lagman, embodying the club’s continued commitment to meaningful service and proactive leadership.
A proud moment for RCLS came during the awarding ceremony, where the club received Second Place in the Heartwork Village Video Contest for Area 3. With an impressive 90% score from the judges, the video entry showcased the club’s ongoing initiatives in Badjao Village, Brgy. Dalahican, Lucena City — a community the club has consistently supported through health campaigns, hygiene programs, literacy drives, and livelihood projects.
More than just visuals, the video stands as a promise — a reflection of the club’s enduring commitment to empowering one of Lucena’s most underserved communities. This recognition affirms RCLS’s focus on service that is sustainable, heartfelt, and community-driven.
As a new Rotary Year begins, the Rotary Club of Lucena South moves forward with strengthened resolve. The Heartwork continues — in every project, in every community, and in every act of service.
