Busog Lusog 9th Session Brings Nutrition and Learning to Badjao Children in Lucena

Lucena City — September 15, 2025

The Rotary Club of Lucena South, together with the Rotaract Club of Lucena South, successfully held the 9th session of its “Busog Lusog” on September 15, 2025, at the Old San Rafael Chapel in Dalahican, Lucena City.

The day began with an engaging learning program led by Cherie Gonzales-Resurreccion, who guided the Badjao children through values-based lessons designed to build confidence and encourage active participation.

Following the learning session, the children were treated to a feeding activity, ensuring they received both nourishment and care to complement their educational experience.

In support of the program, VP Red Guinauli of the Rotary Club of Lucena City Maharlika donated multivitamins, which will be distributed in the upcoming sessions to further promote the children’s health and nutrition.

Members of the Rotaract Club of Lucena South assisted throughout the activity, helping in food service, storytelling, and engaging with the children. Their participation highlighted the vital role of youth in sustaining community service initiatives.

With nine successful sessions completed, Busog Lusog continues to stand as a testament to the Rotary Club of Lucena South’s commitment to addressing hunger and promoting learning among underserved communities—living out the spirit of Service Above Self.
