Service, smiles, and fellowship filled the halls of Lucena East VII Elementary School as the Rotaract Clubs of Lucena South, Metro Bacolod, and Carmen Valley joined forces to host “Give a Hand Year 9” on October 11, 2025. This year’s event held special significance as it coincided with the 25th Charter Anniversary of the Rotaract Club of Lucena South (RACLS) — making it a celebration not only of years of service, but also of enduring friendship and collaboration across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
What began as a single LuzViMinda outreach project grew into a three-part day of impact — Give a Hand, Project PinaSmile, and Proyektong ARAL — after visiting Rotaractors and partner organizations eagerly joined the cause. With everyone’s shared passion for service, the host clubs turned one project into a larger celebration of compassion and unity.
Through Give a Hand, and in partnership with PATH Therapy Center, 47 students with special needs received Speech and Occupational Therapy screenings. Therapists also conducted an engaging session for parents and teachers, sharing the importance of therapy and providing personalized home programs to support each child’s development.
Meanwhile, Project PinaSmile brought cheerful grins to over 156 students through a dental mission conducted by the Philippine Dental Association – Quezon Province Chapter. Students learned about proper dental hygiene, received fluoride treatments, and took home dental kits — all made possible by the same lead clubs together with the Rotary Club of Lucena South. Special thanks to the Rotaract Clubs of Manila Metro, Cebu Fuente, and Dipolog for their active participation and support in making this initiative a truly successful and heartwarming day of smiles.
To further spread learning, Proyektong ARAL donated 67 literacy books to the school to enrich its reading resources. This effort was supported by Rotaract partners from Cebu Fuente, Zamboanga City West, Makati United, Carmona, Manila Metro, Midtown QC, Metro Iloilo, New Rise Kalookan North, Dipolog, and Muntinlupa Central.
The event beautifully embodied the LuzViMinda spirit — three regions, one mission, countless lives touched. As RAC Lucena South celebrated its 25th year of service, the success of Give a Hand Year 9 stood as a joyful reminder that when Rotaractors come together with heart and purpose, their collective impact reaches far and wide.
