RDLS 2025 Gathers District 3820 for a Weekend of Leadership and Transition

RAC Lucena South joins districtwide celebration and induction ceremonies in Tiaong

Tiaong, Quezon— July 19–20, 2025

Rotaractors from across District 3820 gathered at Tiaong Town Plaza for the Rotaract District Learning Seminar (RDLS) 2025, hosted by the Rotaract Club of Tiaong Transforming New Generation. The weekend served as both a leadership development space and a formal opening for the new Rotary Year, centered on the theme “Advocacy Driven, United for Good.”

The program opened with a brief keynote address from Senator Risa Hontiveros, who shared a message encouraging delegates to lead with empathy and speak up for causes that matter.

This was followed by two thought-provoking plenary sessions.

IPDG William Delloro gave a comprehensive presentation on the legacy and purpose of The Rotary Foundation, highlighting how Rotarians and Rotaractors alike contribute to sustainable global impact. His message reminded the audience that every act of service — no matter how small — plays a part in Rotary’s century-long mission to create lasting change.

His message reminded the audience that every act of service, no matter the scale, contributes to Rotary’s century-long mission to create lasting change.

Following him was Pilipinas MDIO Chair Stephen Ferrera, who shared a heartfelt and inspiring account of his journey from Interactor to national multidistrict chair. His talk emphasized commitment, personal growth, and finding one's own voice in the Rotary movement.

The Rotaract Club of Lucena South was among the participating clubs, with 10 delegates attending. The team showed strong support throughout key sessions and ceremonies, representing the club with commitment and unity.

The evening District Induction Ceremony was one of the weekend’s most anticipated highlights. It opened with a message from District Governor Jeremy “JLo” Lo, who spoke about the evolving role of young leaders in shaping Rotary’s future. He emphasized the importance of shared leadership between Rotarians and Rotaractors, and challenged everyone to lead with integrity, empathy, and action.

DG JLo then formally inducted Luis “Santi” Hidalgo as the new District Rotaract Representative (DRR) for Rotary Year 2025–2026. In his message, DRR Santi reflected on his journey through the Rotaract movement, drawing from experiences that shaped his commitment to humility, courage, and purpose. He outlined his vision for the year ahead — encouraging clubs to strengthen their local impact while remaining globally aware, and to help build a district grounded in advocacy, innovation, and service.

After his induction, DRR Santi administered the oath of office for the incoming district officers, followed by the club presidents, new members, and club officers. The ceremony marked the formal beginning of their terms — a powerful reminder of the responsibility each one carries as a steward of service and leadership.

Adding warmth to the program, RAC Pakil Baybay hosted Project HAPAG — a lunch-time food exchange featuring local delicacies shared among clubs, celebrating culture through simple but meaningful moments of fellowship.

The weekend concluded with a brief town tour of Tiaong, where delegates explored cultural sites and local landmarks. It was a quiet and fitting end to a weekend centered on connection, reflection, and renewed direction.

RDLS 2025 wasn’t just about programs or formality — it was about presence, alignment, and starting the year grounded in unity and service.
