On October 25–26, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Lucena South, together with fellow lead host clubs RAC Tanauan, RAC Metro Sorsogon, and RAC Victoria, spearheaded the fifth year of “Piso Para sa Libro”—a literacy and outreach initiative dedicated to supporting education in underserved communities.
This year’s project brought Rotaractors to the Mangyan community of Sitio Viakalan, Brgy. Villa Cerveza, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, where 80 students of Tadyawan Elementary School received educational support and resources.

The journey itself was an inspiring testament to service. From the barangay proper, the team rode a community-provided service vehicle for an hour, followed by a 45-minute trek to reach the school. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by the cheerful smiles of the Budang (Mangyan children), whose excitement filled the grounds with warmth.
Fun and interactive games such as Trip to Jerusalem, Bring Me, and Bato-Bato Pick brought joy and laughter throughout the day. The event also included the turnover of a television unit, a valuable addition to enhance classroom learning and engagement.

Books generously donated by RAC Paranaque St. Andrew and Norly Picaso were also distributed to the students, further enriching their learning resources.
The activity was made possible through the support of co-host clubs — RAC Batangas Business Class, RAC Calapan, RAC Mandaluyong North, RAC Parola, and RAC Virac — whose collaboration ensured the project’s continued success.
Beyond the program, Rotaractors visited the homes of the Mangyan families, learning about their way of life rooted in farming and fruit gathering. The day ended with fellowship by the river and shared meals, symbolizing unity and gratitude.

Now on its fifth year, “Piso Para sa Libro” continues to embody the spirit of Rotary’s “Service Above Self”, nurturing not only literacy but also compassion and understanding among communities.
