Every Drop Counts and Every Donor Matters.
A simple act of donating blood can become a life-changing gift for someone in need. On July 11, 2026, Dugton Buhay Year 8 brought together volunteers, organizations, and blood donors at Calmar Homes Subdivision, Brgy. Mayao Kanluran, Lucena City, for a community blood donation drive that successfully collected 100 blood units.

The initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of JMar Herbs Inc., Rotary Club of Lucena South, Rotary Club of Lucena Circle, Rotary Club of Lucena South Premier, Rotaract Club of Lucena South, and Rotaract Club of Lucena Circle.
100 Blood Units, Countless Lives Reached
The successful collection of 100 blood units helped strengthen the local blood supply and highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in supporting patients who require transfusions.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one blood donation can potentially help save up to three lives, underscoring how a single donor can make a meaningful difference.

The project aimed not only to address the need for an adequate blood supply but also to encourage more people to become regular voluntary blood donors. Through the initiative, participants were reminded that a few minutes spent donating blood can provide critical support and hope to someone facing a medical emergency.
Why Blood Donation Matters
Unlike many other medical resources, blood cannot be manufactured and must come from volunteer donors. Every donation can help patients undergoing surgery, people injured in accidents, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, and individuals undergoing treatment for serious illnesses.

By encouraging voluntary blood donation, Dugton Buhay Year 8 contributed to building a more prepared and resilient community—one where lifesaving blood is more readily available when emergencies arise.
The initiative also supports Rotary's Disease Prevention and Treatment Area of Focus, reinforcing the organization's commitment to improving community health and expanding access to essential health-related services.
Turning Compassion Into Action
Dugton Buhay Year 8 was strengthened by the support of numerous partner organizations and volunteers, including the Philippine Red Cross Lucena Chapter, Hermano's Finest Titanium Lady Eagles Club, Rotaract Clubs of the Quezon and Marinduque Area, and Hermano Puli Titanium Eagles Club.

More importantly, the success of the blood donation drive would not have been possible without every individual who volunteered and every donor who chose to give.
Their generosity demonstrated a simple but powerful truth: every drop counts, and every donor matters.
Through collective action and compassion, Dugton Buhay Year 8 continues to turn blood donation into a tangible gift of life—and a lasting source of hope for the Lucena community.
