Rotaract Club of Lucena South Joins District 3820 Area 3 Launch of Project KAPIT-BAHAY in Atimonan

July 4, 2026 | Saturday

Service becomes most meaningful when it empowers communities, protects the environment, and inspires people to take action.

On July 4, 2026, the Rotaract Club of Lucena South proudly joined the official launch of the District 3820 – Area 3 (Quezon and Marinduque) Kick-Off Project KAPIT-BAHAY: Kalinga, PITak ng Kaalaman, Balik-Anyo at Handog ng YaMAN in Atimonan, Quezon.

The district-wide initiative brought together Rotaractors, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders for a day focused on environmental conservation, responsible tourism, community preparedness, and fellowship.

Building Communities Through Service

The program opened with an inspiring message from DRAR Jerome Rindeza, followed by a special message from DRR Vincent Ibarreta. Their messages set the tone for an initiative centered on meaningful volunteerism and collective action.

Project KAPIT-BAHAY was designed to promote responsible and sustainable tourism in Atimonan while encouraging communities to take an active role in protecting public spaces and local tourism destinations.

Beyond environmental efforts, the project also highlighted the importance of community preparedness and safety, equipping volunteers with practical knowledge that can contribute to a more resilient community.

From Environmental Conservation to Community Preparedness

Throughout the day, participating volunteers took part in several activities that combined environmental action, public service, and skills development.

These included:

  • Conducting clean-up drives and environmental conservation activities
  • Cleaning and preserving tourism and traffic signages
  • Creating community flaglets for traffic volunteers
  • Participating in Basic First Aid and Emergency Response Training
  • Joining discussions focused on strengthening community-based tourism

These activities demonstrated how community service can extend beyond a single event. By combining environmental stewardship, public safety, and education, Project KAPIT-BAHAY encouraged volunteers to become active contributors to their communities.

The Power of Collaboration

The successful launch of Project KAPIT-BAHAY was made possible through the collaboration of 16 co-host Rotaract clubs, along with sponsors, partner organizations, speakers, and volunteers.

Their collective effort helped create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment in Atimonan while demonstrating the impact that coordinated community action can achieve.

For the Rotaract Club of Lucena South, participation in initiatives such as Project KAPIT-BAHAY reflects its continued commitment to service, environmental responsibility, community development, and meaningful partnerships.

When people come together with a shared purpose, service becomes more than an activity—it becomes a catalyst for lasting community impact.

Project KAPIT-BAHAY stands as a reminder that meaningful change begins with people willing to lend their time, skills, and hands to the communities they serve.
