TAIPEI, Taiwan — Conversations in different languages filled the halls of The Grand Hotel as delegates from across East Asia and other international exchange networks came together with a shared goal: strengthening friendships, learning from one another, and building a more connected future through youth exchange.

From June 10 to 12, 2026, the East Asia Youth Exchange Network (EAYEN) Conference brought together Youth Exchange Officers, Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, alumni, young professionals, and student leaders for three days of dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Hosted at The Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, the conference focused on promoting international understanding, sharing best practices, and enhancing Rotary Youth Exchange programs across the region.

The program featured keynote sessions, breakout discussions, networking activities, cultural exchanges, and strategic planning meetings that encouraged participants to exchange ideas and strengthen professional and personal connections. Delegates explored ways to improve youth exchange initiatives while fostering greater cooperation among Rotary districts and partner organizations.

One of the conference's significant outcomes was the selection of the Philippines as the host country for the 2027 East Asia Youth Exchange Network Conference. The announcement opens new opportunities for regional collaboration and youth leadership, while providing a platform for the country to welcome delegates from across the international Rotary Youth Exchange community.

Among the participants was Rtr. Czinny Yvonne C. Tañola, who represented the Rotaract Club of Lucena South. Her participation reflected the club's continuing support for leadership development and international engagement through Rotary programs that encourage cultural understanding and global citizenship.

International exchange initiatives remain an important part of Rotary's International Service Avenue and its Area of Focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention. By bringing together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, these programs encourage dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation while preparing young leaders to address shared challenges through collaboration.

As delegates returned to their respective communities, the relationships formed and ideas exchanged during the conference will continue to support future partnerships. With the Philippines preparing to host the next EAYEN Conference in 2027, the momentum generated in Taipei is expected to carry forward opportunities for friendship, cultural understanding, and youth leadership across the region.
