Project Bubble Buddies Reaches Nearly 2,000 Learners with Hand Hygiene Initiative

On June 3, 2026, nearly 2,000 elementary school learners in Lucena City received more than just hygiene supplies—they took part in a community effort promoting one of the simplest yet most effective ways to prevent illness: proper handwashing. Through Project Bubble Buddies, Rotary and Rotaract volunteers, together with educators and community partners, reinforced the importance of healthy sanitation practices among young learners.

Project Bubble Buddies was implemented through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Club of Lucena South, Rotary Club of Los Baños Makiling, Rotaract Club of Lucena South, and partner schools. Held at Isabang Elementary School and Napoleon Ravanzon Elementary School, the initiative aimed to promote proper hand hygiene through the distribution of hypoallergenic hand soap while encouraging students to develop consistent and healthy sanitation habits.

The project benefited a total of 1,934 students, including 534 pupils from Napoleon Ravanzon Elementary School and 1,400 pupils from Isabang Elementary School. Recognizing that regular handwashing remains one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of communicable diseases, the initiative focused on providing safe and skin-friendly hygiene products suitable for everyday use in school.

During the activity, volunteers distributed hypoallergenic hand soap to both beneficiary schools in support of their existing handwashing programs. School administrators, teachers, and volunteers worked together throughout the distribution while emphasizing the importance of regular handwashing in helping maintain clean, healthy, and safe learning environments for students.

Beyond the distribution of hygiene supplies, the initiative strengthened collaboration among Rotary, Rotaract, educational institutions, and community stakeholders committed to advancing children's health and wellness. The project demonstrated how partnerships can support disease prevention efforts while encouraging lifelong habits that contribute to students' overall well-being.

Project Bubble Buddies reflects Rotary's commitment to promoting healthier communities through preventive health initiatives. By reaching nearly 2,000 learners across two public schools, the project highlighted how simple interventions, supported by strong community partnerships, can make a meaningful contribution to improving public health and creating healthier learning environments for children.
