Lucena City, Philippines — August 2025 proved to be a remarkable month for the Rotary Club of Lucena South (RCLS), as the club highlighted its commitment to service, strengthened ties with district leadership, and welcomed a new generation of leaders and members. From bold public visibility campaigns to meaningful fellowship gatherings, RCLS showcased what it truly means to live out Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self.
Raising Awareness Through Billboards
On August 15, 2025, the Rotary Club of Lucena South unveiled four major billboards strategically located along the busy Diversion Road in Lucena City. Seen daily by thousands of motorists and commuters, the installations spotlight key Rotary campaigns and initiatives:
- The Four-Way Test – Rotary’s timeless standard of ethics and integrity.
- End Polio Now Campaign – a call to action for one of Rotary’s biggest global missions: the eradication of polio.
- People of Action Campaign – featuring the club’s ongoing efforts to fight hunger and uplift vulnerable communities.
- The Bridge – RCLS’s official bulletin, highlighting stories of service and impact.
“These billboards serve as both an invitation and a reminder that Rotary is here to make a difference,” shared President Kits Lagman. “Together, let’s unite for and feel the rush of life in Rotary.”
Through this initiative, RCLS aims to not only spread awareness but also inspire volunteerism and strengthen its connection with the broader community.
Strengthening Bonds During the Governor’s Visit
Just days later, RCLS proudly welcomed District Governor Jeremie S. Lo and his team for the Governor’s Visit 2025. Club Officers and Directors presented their plans and programs for the Rotary Year, covering key areas such as community service, youth development, and membership engagement.
In his message, Governor Lo emphasized the vital role of membership growth in sustaining Rotary’s impact: “Members are the fuel of our clubs,” he noted, challenging each Rotarian to bring in at least one new member. He also shared updates on district priorities, including the installation of the Iconic Rotary Marker in Bula, Camarines Sur, the importance of supporting The Rotary Foundation, and the pursuit of a new Global Grant.
Heartworking President Kits Lagman responded with renewed commitment: “Rising to the challenge, we will work hard, empowered by our District Governor.” The visit not only deepened fellowship but also reinvigorated members to continue serving with passion and purpose.
A Night of Fellowship: 56th Induction and Installation
Capping off the month was a momentous celebration — the 56th Installation of Officers and Induction of New Members. The evening was filled with elegance, fellowship, and joy as RCLS honored its leaders and welcomed fresh faces into the fold. The ceremony symbolized continuity, growth, and unity — values that fuel the club’s enduring impact in the community.
✨ “A night to remember!” ✨ The event reminded every member that while leadership may change, the mission of Rotary remains steadfast.

From unveiling bold billboards that spark awareness, to drawing inspiration from the Governor’s challenge, and celebrating the induction of new members, August 2025 has been a month of milestones for the Rotary Club of Lucena South.
